RAGE -- Rapid Geometry Modeler
Still in development -- coming soon.

A versatile aircraft geometry modeler for a wide range of computational aerodynamic analyses. Designers can quickly develop parameterized aircraft configuration models that can be very simple or quite detailed. RAGE is ideal for quick analyses, parametric trade studies, and especially optimization. Most aircraft designs can be modeled using the fuselage, wing, and nacelle components that are currently available as aircraft components. Geometry components and subcomponents can be easily customized by the user for specialized applications. Java-based, multi-platform.

LinAir 4

Computes aerodynamic characteristics of complete configurations. A discrete vortex Weissinger program with linearly tapered and twisted elements. Quadratic profile drag integration and Trefftz-plane induced drag computation. Support for asymmetric flight conditions, roll, pitch and yaw rates. Additional modules can be purchased to enable such items as optimization, stability derivatives and parametric variations. Easy-to-use interface, built-in plotting and 3-D geometry display. Perfect for computing interference of wing and canard, aft tail, or winglets. Java-based, available for most platforms.

PANDA

Computes pressures on arbitrary sections from coordinates in an ASCII file. Karman-Tsien compressibility effects. Integral boundary layer calculations for transition location, laminar and turbulent separation, and drag. Design option permits interactive changes in airfoil geometry with recalculation and display of pressures in less than a second. Built-in plotting of Cp or save results to Plot file. Available for MacOS and Windows.

PASS -- Program for Aircraft Synthesis Studies
Please note that PASS is not available for general purchase, but can be obtained as part of a consulting agreement with Desktop Aeronautics, Inc.

A powerful and full-featured aircraft preliminary design tool, allowing for rapid evaluations of design concepts. Incorporates a vortex-lattice model for evaluating low-speed performance, and linear axisymmetric theory for inviscid drag estimation. Prediction of ground signatures (sonic boom) for supersonic cases. Weight buildup and CG estimation with CG travel in-flight due to fuel burn. Full mission analysis based on the range of available analyses. Non-gradient based optimizer to allow for optimizations of configurations.
