Desktop Aeronautics provides consulting services for aerodynamic
analysis and aircraft design problems.
We have extensive experience in applying aerodynamics, structures,
propulsion, noise, emissions and aeroelastic analysis methods to
assess the performance of aerospace vehicles. The analysis methods
cover a wide range of fidelity, ranging from traditional preliminary
design linear and statistical methods that run on a typical desktop
computer to advanced CFD methods that necessitate modern
supercomputing technology.
We are experienced in applying advanced
multidisciplinary optimization methods to improve aerospace designs
both at the conceptual level and the detailed design level. We
perform design-related work for major aerospace companies with
particular focus on preliminary design of aircraft and also provide
sales, support, and specific customizations of PASS, our main
multidisciplinary design optimization tool that is widely used in the
aerospace industry.
Previous work also includes aerodynamic analysis and design of flying
toys, America's Cup sailboats, large and small unpiloted aircraft, and
custom analysis and optimization codes for companies ranging from wind
surfing sailmakers to NASA, Boeing, DARPA, and others. We are
experienced with code development in languages from Fortran to
