Selecting a Destination

This airplane is designed to fly from Washington D.C. to one of about 100 possible airports around the world. Choose your destination by clicking near the destination airport. Note the required range, flight time, and runway characteristics.

You may want to start out with a short domestic flight and slowly increase your range. For a real challenge, try to fly non-stop to Sydney or Tokyo. By the way, the program draws a straight line between the two cities, but the real route is a curve -- partly because of the shape of the earth and partly because of airspace restrictions and winds.

More help will be included in the final version of this program.
