Using the ADW Program

Here are a few pointers for using the program.
To start over, click on the Restart link below, then click on the large airplane image in the initial slide show. From this point on you should see a menu at the top of the screen with options indicated by the small images. By clicking on one of these images, the program allows you to change the wing design, tail design, engines, fuselage cross-section, cruise settings, and the destination airport. The button in the upper right corner of the screen starts the computations for your airplane.

Check the help link at the bottom of each page for additional information and a description of some of the choices.

The program requires Netscape Navigator 3.0 or later and has been tested on Macs, PCs, and UNIX workstations. Make sure your browser is set to allow java, javascript, and cookies (this is probably the default setting), and that you allow sufficient memory for the browser to function. The program does run on older 68000 series Mac's and 486 PC's although the response is so slow that we cannot recommend using it with these machines.

If you are having a specific problem with this version of the Airplane Design Workshop, we'd like to hear about it. Send mail to adw@desktopaero.com.
